1 pound ground beef<br />
1) 1-1/4 ounce package of taco seasoning<br />
1/2 cup water<br />
1) 12 ounce can drained whole-kernel corn<br />
1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper<br />
1) 8 ounce can tomato sauce<br />
1) 8-1/2 ounce package of corn muffin mix<br />
1) 2-3/4 ounce can fried onions, divided<br />
1/3 cup shredded sharp cheese</p>
<p><strong><br />

<p>Cooking Instructions:</strong><br />
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees<br />
Brown the beef in a skillet and drain<br />
Stir in the taco seasoning, water, corn, bell pepper and tomato sauce<br />
Pour into a 12 by 7 inch glass dish or a two-quart casserole dish<br />
In a bowl, mix the corn muffin mix according to the package directions<br />
Stir in half the onions<br />
Spoon the corn muffin mixture around the outer edge of the casserole dish.<br />
Bake uncovered for 20 minutes<br />
Remove from the oven and sprinkle the cheese and remaining onions on the corn muffin topping.<br />
Bake two or three minutes more and then serve Cornbread Taco Bake to hungry guests!</p>
