There’s nothing quite like the smell of freshly baked cookies wafting through your home. These chocolate chip cookies are rich, buttery, and packed with chocolate chips, making them the perfect treat for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup packed light-brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups semisweet and/or milk chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda; set aside.
- In a large bowl, using an electric mixer, beat the butter and sugars on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes.
- Add the salt, vanilla, and eggs to the butter mixture and continue beating until well combined.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix!
- Fold in the chocolate chips and nuts (if using) with a spatula until evenly distributed.
- Using a tablespoon or cookie scoop, drop dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown but the centers still look slightly underbaked.
- Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Enjoy these delightful cookies with a glass of milk or share them with your loved ones. Happy baking!
