Our Favourite From Scratch Banana Cream Pie

Ingredients:
- 1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups whole milk
- ½ cup granulated sugar (for pudding)
- ¼ cup cornstarch
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 4 large egg yolks
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (for pudding)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 large ripe bananas, sliced
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a medium bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and granulated sugar. Mix until well combined.
- Press the crumb mixture firmly into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch pie dish. Bake for 8-10 minutes, then remove and let it cool.
- In a medium saucepan, whisk together the milk, sugar, cornstarch, and salt over medium heat. Bring to a simmer, stirring constantly until thickened.
