Feast your eyes on this tasty treat!

Ingredients
- 2 cups green tomatoes, chopped
- 1 cup onions, finely chopped
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup apple cider vinegar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
- 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large pot, combine the chopped green tomatoes and onions. Cook them over medium heat until they start to soften, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add in the brown sugar and apple cider vinegar, stirring until the sugar has dissolved completely.
- Mix in the minced garlic, grated ginger, mustard seeds, ground cinnamon, and turmeric powder. This is where the magic begins, y’all!
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then lower the heat and let it simmer uncovered for about 30-40 minutes. Keep stirring occasionally, so nothing sticks to the bottom.
- As it simmers, you want the chutney to thicken up nicely. You’ll know it’s ready when it reaches a jam-like consistency.
- Once done, taste and adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper as needed.
- Transfer the chutney into sterilized jars while it’s still hot, seal them up, and let them cool at room temperature.
- Store in the fridge, and let the flavors meld together for at least a day before digging in. Enjoy this on sandwiches, with meats, or just straight from the jar!
