Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Optional: chopped nuts or sesame seeds for topping
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then stir in the vanilla extract, combining everything thoroughly.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
- If desired, fold in any chopped nuts or sesame seeds for an extra crunch.
- Using a tablespoon or a cookie scoop, drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space for spreading.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-18 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. Be careful not to overbake, as you want them to remain soft.
- Once baked, let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
