  • ½ cup vegetable shortening
  • 2 cups cooked shredded chicken
  • 1 cup salsa verde
  • 24 corn husks, soaked in warm water

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine masa harina, baking powder, and salt. Mix well.
  2. In another bowl, beat the vegetable shortening until fluffy. Slowly add the masa mixture alternately with the chicken broth, stirring until smooth.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix the shredded chicken with the salsa verde until well coated.
  4. To assemble the tamales, take a soaked corn husk and spread about 2 tablespoons of masa dough onto the center, leaving space at the edges. Add a tablespoon of the chicken filling on top of the masa.
