This savory pie is filled with spiced potatoes, peas, and savory herbs, all encased in a flaky crust and served with a refreshing yogurt sauce. It’s perfect for any occasion!

Ingredients
For the pie filling:
- 2 cups of potatoes, peeled and diced
- 1 cup of green peas
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon of ginger, grated
- 1 teaspoon of cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon of garam masala
- 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric powder
- Salt, to taste
- 2 tablespoons of fresh coriander, chopped
- 1 package of pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
For the minted yogurt:
- 1 cup of plain yogurt
- 1/4 cup of fresh mint leaves, chopped
- 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
- Salt, to taste
Instructions
- Start by boiling the diced potatoes until tender, then drain and set aside.
- In a pan, heat a little oil and sauté the onions until translucent. Add the garlic, ginger, and cumin seeds; cook for another minute.
- Stir in the boiled potatoes, green peas, garam masala, turmeric powder, and salt. Mix well and cook for about 5 minutes. Finally, add fresh coriander and remove from heat.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out the pie crust and place it in a pie dish, leaving some overhang around the edges.
- Fill the crust with the potato-pea mixture and cover with another layer of pie crust, sealing the edges by crimping them together. Cut a few slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape.
- Bake the pie in the preheated oven for about 30–35 minutes, or until golden brown.
- While the pie is baking, prepare the minted yogurt by mixing the yogurt, chopped mint, lemon juice, and salt in a bowl. Set aside.
- Once done, let the pie cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve warm, alongside the minted yogurt for dipping.
Enjoy this savory delight that brings the flavors of India right to your table. It’s sure to be a hit!
