Easy Stuffed Cabbage Rolls

Ingredients

  • 1 large head of cabbage
  • 1 pound ground beef or turkey
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 2 cups diced tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Carefully remove the core from the cabbage and gently place the whole head in the boiling water. Cook for about 5 minutes, or until the leaves are tender. Remove the cabbage and let it cool.
  3. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing until the onion is translucent.
  4. In a large bowl, combine the ground meat, cooked rice, sautéed onion and garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, paprika, and half of the tomato sauce. Mix well until combined.
  5. Once the cabbage is cool enough to handle, carefully peel off several large leaves. Place a heaping spoonful of the meat mixture at the base of each leaf and roll it up tightly, tucking in the sides as you go to create a secure roll.
  6. Spread a little tomato sauce in the bottom of a baking dish. Arrange the cabbage rolls seam-side down in the dish. Pour the remaining tomato sauce and diced tomatoes over the top.
  7. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for about 45 minutes, or until the rolls are cooked through and tender.
  8. Once cooked, let the rolls rest for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired, and enjoy your delicious stuffed cabbage rolls!

These stuffed cabbage rolls are a perfect meal option for those looking to create a comforting and wholesome dish. Enjoy the delightful combination of flavors in each bite!
