Sour Cream Coffee Cake
This delicious coffee cake is rich and buttery, with a pleasantly tangy flavor from the sour cream. It’s topped with a crunchy streusel that adds the perfect texture. Trust me, once you try it, you’ll want to make it over and over again!

Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup sour cream
- ½ cup light brown sugar, packed
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ½ cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. This will take about 3-4 minutes.
- Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with sour cream, beginning and ending with the flour mixture. Mix until just combined.
- In a separate small bowl, combine the brown sugar, cinnamon, and nuts (if using). This will be your streusel topping.
- Spread half of the batter into the prepared baking pan. Sprinkle half of the streusel mixture over the batter. Then, add the remaining batter on top, followed by the rest of the streusel on the very top.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Enjoy this delicious Sour Cream Coffee Cake with your favorite beverage, and don’t forget to share it with friends and family! Happy baking!
