Ingredients:
- 2 cups masa harina
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup crushed pineapple, drained
- 20 corn husks, soaked in warm water
Instructions:
- Begin by soaking the corn husks in warm water for about 30 minutes to make them pliable.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the masa harina, baking powder, salt, and mix until well combined.
- Gradually pour in the milk, mixing continuously to create a smooth dough.
- Gently fold in the drained crushed pineapple, ensuring that it is evenly distributed throughout the dough.
- Once your dough is ready, take a soaked corn husk and spread about 2 tablespoons of the masa mixture onto the center of the husk. Fold the sides over the filling and then fold the bottom up to secure the tamale.
- Repeat this process until all the masa mixture is used up.
- Place the tamales upright in a steamer basket. Cover and steam over boiling water for about 1 to 1.5 hours, or until the masa separates easily from the husk.
- Once cooked, allow them to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy these delicious Sweet Pineapple Tamales warm or at room temperature.
Perfect for sharing with friends and family, these tamales will surely become a favorite in your household. Enjoy your sweet treat!
