Vegan Meringue Kisses
These beautiful little confections are made with aquafaba, the liquid from canned chickpeas, which acts as a fantastic egg white substitute. The result is a fluffy and sweet meringue that you can mold into charming little kisses. They’re perfect for an elegant dessert platter or just a cheerful afternoon treat!

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup aquafaba (chickpea brine)
- 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Natural food coloring (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 215°F (100°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a clean, dry bowl, pour in the aquafaba and add the cream of tartar. Using an electric mixer, beat the aquafaba on medium speed until it becomes foamy.
- Gradually increase the speed to high and continue to whip until stiff peaks form, which usually takes about 10 minutes.
- Slowly add the powdered sugar, one tablespoon at a time, while continuing to beat the mixture. Once all the sugar is incorporated, add the vanilla extract. If you want to add color, you can incorporate a few drops of natural food coloring at this stage and gently fold it in until combined.
- Using a piping bag fitted with a star tip, pipe small mounds onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each for expansion.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 1.5 hours or until the meringues are dry and can easily lift off the parchment paper. Turn off the oven and allow the meringues to cool completely in the oven with the door slightly ajar.
- Once cooled, store the meringue kisses in an airtight container. Enjoy them as they are, or use them to top your favorite desserts!
