Are you ready to impress your friends and family with a delectable seafood dish? Today, I’m excited to share my favorite recipe for Gambas Pil Pil, a fantastic Spanish appetizer featuring succulent garlic and chili prawns. It’s easy to make and absolutely bursting with flavor. Let’s dive in!
Gambas Pil Pil – Garlic and Chilli Prawns
This dish combines the bold flavors of garlic and chili with perfectly cooked prawns. It’s a quick recipe that’s great for sharing and pairs wonderfully with crusty bread. You’ll want to soak up every drop of the delicious oil.
Ingredients
- 1 pound large prawns, peeled and deveined
- 4 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1-2 teaspoons red chili flakes (adjust to taste)
- Salt to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- 1 lemon, cut into wedges (for serving)
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes, until fragrant. Be careful not to let the garlic burn!
- Add the red chili flakes to the pan, stirring well to combine with the garlic and oil.
- Next, add the prawns to the skillet. Cook for 2-3 minutes on one side, then flip and cook the other side until they turn pink and opaque. This should take around 4-6 minutes total.
- Season the prawns with salt to taste while they cook. Make sure to coat them well in the delicious garlic and chili oil.
- Once the prawns are cooked, remove the skillet from the heat. Sprinkle freshly chopped parsley over the prawns for added flavor and a pop of color.
- Serve your Gambas Pil Pil hot, with lemon wedges on the side for squeezing over the top. Don’t forget some crusty bread to soak up that incredible garlic oil!
Now you’re all set to impress your guests with this delightful dish! Enjoy the vibrant flavors and the wonderful aroma that fills your kitchen as you cook. Happy eating!
